He says he likes school and that the boys that sit at his table are funny. His first day they used pretzels to write their names, and then got to eat the pretzels. After lunch he did his homework and I told him to put it in his backpack so it would be ready for tomorrow. He asked, "I have school tomorrow?" I guess maybe we didn't explain very well that you go to school daily. This is the first time he has had something to go to every day.We have been walking to school in the mornings. The school is about 0.8 or 0.9 miles from our house. It is nice to live close enough to walk. He also brought home a paper the first day that is a program sponsored by UDOT to encourage kids to walk to school. If he walks 3 of 5 days each week in September he can turn in the paper to be eligible to win prizes. He wishes he could ride the bus, but since we don't live in the school boundaries he can't ride the bus. The boundaries are kind of strange since we live closer to the school than many kids that go to the school. Many people in our ward attend the school and ride the bus. I think it would have been hard to send him on a bus. It was nice to go to the school and see him in the door. He was very excited to go and did not even look back. It is exciting to see him embark on a new adventure.
Monday night Grandma and Grandpa Parks came over for FHE. They found these growing in our garden. Any guesses what they are? It was fun to spend a couple of hours with the grandparents.
