Fall Soccer

Saturday morning I went to the Rec Center and signed Caleb up for soccer, and at 10 AM he played in his first game. I thought the first day was just a meeting, so Keith stayed home with the other two kids. They gave him a uniform, practiced a little bit, then played a game. It was not an official game, but my friend told me it was just like every other game would be. He was put on a team with two girls from our ward, and their dad (our former home teacher) is the coach. Caleb had a great time playing. At first he was a little confused about which goal he was headed for, but he caught on by halftime. At one point he sat on the ball because the other kids were trying to kick it, and his shoe fell off once. It is fun to watch him enjoying himself.

His (and your) first team sport! So great that he's on teams with people you know. Now you are officially a soccer mom. Got your sticker yet for your van window and your portable chairs ready? Have fun!
