Going on a Trip

We decided to go on a trip because three of our family members were celebrating important milestones in their lives.  It worked out nicely because our kids got out early on Thursday, and did not have school on Friday.  We left after the kids got out, and it only took 8 hours to get to my parents house!  Alyssa woke up at 4:30 am and was throwing up.  I think that traveling makes her worry and that is why she got sick.  Keith took care of her while I took Spencer downstairs.  He just did not want to go back to sleep, and thought it was a fine time to explore grandma's house.  About 8:30 am he and I both had a nap.

Friday we had some time to play at the park while the men stayed home and made dinner and worked on the electronics in the house.

Saturday we spent the day enjoying the special occasions in the lives of these three, then ate and played together.
Grandma bought gummy rats for all the grand-kids.  Don't they look delicious!

Our favorite things about the trip included:
  1. Audio books in the car (A-Z Mysteries by Ron Roy books S-V, Nancy Drew, and the Friend)
  2. Staying up late talking to my parents after we arrived
  3. Spending time with my sisters
  4. Watching the kids play with their cousins
  5. Nights 2 and 3 when the kids all slept much better
  6. Watching the Relief Society Broadcast with women in my family
  7. Playing football (Keith)
  8. Sleeping on a tall air mattress and getting three touchdowns (Parker)
  9. Nerf wars in the basement (Caleb)
  10. Sleeping with a giant Winnie the Pooh (Alyssa)
