Autumn Wreath

Keep seeing cute wreaths that Camille Webster Gehring makes, and have wanted to learn. But could never go to one of her classes. So I decided to try and make one. I sort of followed these instructions, but didn't add as much as she did because I thought it would be a bit too much for my taste. http://misskopykat.blogspot.com/2012/08/how-to-make-curly-deco-mesh-wreath.html

Baby Onesies

Last night at our Relief Society Meeting I demonstrated how to use freezer paper stencils, and then the sisters made onesies that we will give to the new babies born into the ward. The meeting coordinator had cut all of the stencils out, so it was fun and quick. Now we should be set for a little while for baby gifts.

Tie Dye

Here are the bandannas we tie dyed for camp! We used Cayman Isle Green, Sapphire Blue, and Wisteria dyes. A huge thanks to two wonderful friends who helped me out with supplies and even came to my house to help. We had a great time doing it and are so happy with the results.

TV Turnoff week - Day 2

Necklaces made by the boys for their sister.
Parker made the top and Caleb made the bottom necklace.

Today we ran some errands in the morning and went to the dentist. I go to a family dentist, so he takes care of the kids and I all at one time. The kids all did great, except Alyssa did not want to open her mouth to let the dentist peek inside. She had a good time playing, and loved when the dentist showed her how he could fill up a cup with water and vacuum it up using Mr. Thirsty. After the dentist we stopped to play at the park then briefly at Kitchen Kneads. The kids got certificates for being great patients from the dentist, which included a certificate for a free kids meal at Del Taco. So we stopped and had lunch on our way home. This afternoon we read stories and made necklaces for Alyssa's birthday while she napped. The kids played with neighbors both before and after dinner. I had a camp meeting tonight while the kids were gone playing. We are using Mod Podge to make covers for small photo albums for one of our camp crafts, so tonight I made some with the youth camp leaders and my assistant camp director. It was like a girls night out for me. Thank you neighbor for taking my kids!

A Good Excuse

To try Freezer Paper Stenciling!

Last month on Presser Foot it was stenciling month. I learned about using freezer paper to make stencils, and was dying to try it out. Then the kids were invited to wear bug costumes to a Primary activity. I thought instead of making a costume, I could stencil a t-shirt with a bug. So I used this great tutorial and free stencils from here, and ended up with these fun t-shirts.
Caleb picked a scorpion because Mutt Williams is scared of scorpions in his Indiana Jones 2 Wii game, and I am not sure why Parker picked the beetle. It was very easy to make, and definitely a project to try again with something other than bugs.
