Gingerbread house - Scooby Style

Thanks to Mom who sent us a fun Scooby Doo Gingerbread house kit.  The kids had a blast, and even started putting some of their leftover Halloween candy on it as well.

Found this idea on Pinterest for displaying Christmas cards

This present was from Alyssa, so he had to take it up to her room so she could see him open it.
Arlene came over for dinner, and Spencer was thrilled to have her read a story

Gingerbread House

We made our gingerbread house this year on Monday night for our Family Home Evening Activity.  The kids had a blast putting candy on it, then decided it was time to eat it.

Gingerbread house

Keith constructs the house
We were a little late decorating our gingerbread house.  We did not decorate it until after Christmas, but the advantage of doing it late is we got the gingerbread kit for 75% off!
Spencer just wants to eat candy

The final product
They helped decorate the house
They decided to each take a side and decorate how they wanted it.

Favorite Gifts

She has been on her bouncy horse since she opened it and we pumped it up.
We visited my Aunt Lynn at the end of November.  She watched our kids while we went to my friend's wedding.  My kids loved bouncing around her house on her bouncy horses. Santa brought 4 to my house.  I am surprised how much I have enjoyed bouncing around on it with the kids.  We took them to the church, and I lost all the races across the gym.
Parker learning how to fly his RC Helicopter
The boys were excited to find RC helicopters under the tree. We went to the Stake Center to learn how to fly them.
We brought the blanket to cushion the landing

Parker loves all things camouflage

Can you see it up there near the ceiling?

Christmas 2012

Enjoying stockings while we wait for Alyssa to wake up
We had a wonderful Christmas day.  We spent the day at home.
The Tree
We have the kids take turn opening their presents.
It took Spencer a few minutes to understand why we were letting him rip paper, but then he got the hang of it and we had to watch out.
All Alyssa asked for was a doll.  She was excited!

Spencer showing off his new bib (my favorite present for him).  It is so long it keeps him clean!

I like my apron!
I fixed breakfast while the kids played with their new toys.  The boys got some Legos for Christmas this year.  I remember in years past when Keith would have to help them put the Legos together, but this year they were able to build them on their own.
Enjoying our traditional Aebelskiver breakfast

Aunt Mary Alice brought presents for the kids and came for dinner
My aunt lives in town, so she joined us for dinner.  Mary Alice had fun playing Operation with the kids while I worked on dinner.  Our friend Arlene also came to dinner, but we forgot to get her picture.
The kids got lots of books from Mary Alice

Our family enjoying the Hexbugs
We enjoyed Christmas day together as a family.  We are so grateful for the birth of Jesus Christ, and all that he has done for each of us.
