May Birthdays

More forks to match our current silverware!
We celebrate half of our family's birthdays in May.  My family spoiled me with lots of gifts.
Keith got this shelf that hangs inside the pantry door.
I guess Keith didn't like how full our pantry was, but he found this shelf that gives us a lot more storage space.  Love it! I especially like being able to have all of my bulk spices in one place.
A Music Stand from (for my guitar music)

Keith got some tools for his birthday.  The fruit tray in the background is his dessert (instead of cake).

Since Keith was on call the weekend of our birthdays, we went out the week after our birthday and found these new curtains for our back door (to replace our vertical blinds).   I guess when you get old you go curtain shopping for fun.  Thanks to the other Laura for watching our kids.  We also had lunch at Cafe Rio - it was yummy!
another little girl lined up with my kids, but she didn't get the special treatment
My Aunt Lynn called earlier in the week to let me know that she and Uncle Dee would be in town for a Gem Show.  We went to see them on Keith's birthday.  We were glad it was inside because it was a rainy day.  He gave each of the kids a piece of amethyst, and taught them how to hold it up to the light to see inside the rock.   A couple of my kids had a chevron amethyst.
Uncle Dee demonstrated faceting and had a bunch of different types of rocks we could look at.
They are looking good, and it was fun to see them!  Uncle Dee says that nature likes to hide its treasures.  Another booth was selling geodes, and would even crack them open right there.
