Caleb's Birthday

Caleb had a party with friends on Saturday, and was thrilled that all the friends he invited were able to come. This year he wanted a ninja party. I bought some jersey fabric, cut it into strips, and gave it to the kids to use as headbands and belts.
We played pin the sword on the ninja, and musical chairs to a ninja song Caleb found on Lego.com. Keith made an obstacle course by running a piece of red crepe paper around the house. The kids took turns running the course, and we gave them a piece of paper with their time on it. We tried having a chopsticks relay, where the kids used chopsticks to carry mini marshmallows from one side of the room to the other, but all the kids wanted to be on one team. Caleb showed his friends some of the Ninjago movies on the Lego website.
Then we ate cake and Caleb opened presents.
All the kids (nine including our own).

This is a picture of Caleb's favorite birthday present. Keith found it at DI, and got to spend most of the day putting it together. He finished just before bedtime, and the kids were very excited to use the new roller coaster. Go Keith!

On his actual birthday Caleb opened cards from his grandparents. He was grateful for the money they sent, and bought a Spinjitzu starter set from Toys R Us. We also took mini cupcakes into school to share with his class. It seems like he has had an extended birthday celebration this year, but he has enjoyed all of it.
