Last night we went to Back to School Night. Caleb will be in a dual immersion program, where the morning is spent in a foreign language classroom, and the afternoon in an English classroom. I am very excited for him to learn another language at such a young age. Hopefully he won't get too discouraged with not being able to understand and will catch on quickly. They split up the parents and kids. They had the children go with the English teacher at first, and had the parents meet with the foreign language teacher. The foreign language teacher will not speak English to the kids, and did not want them to hear her speaking her English at all. Then we switched. I do not think Caleb understood anything she was telling him. We struggled with the decision to place him in dual immersion, but after talking to several people my age who were in a Spanish immersion as kids we decided to do it.
