Caleb with the principal
Our school has a summer reading program to encourage the kids to read.  The kids fill out a reading log and record the number of pages read during the summer.  Caleb, Parker, and Alyssa all turned in a log at the beginning of school.  Last week the school had an assembly to recognize all the kids who participated.  Everyone who turned in a reading log got a small gift bag.  They announced the top readers in 3rd and 4th grades.  I saw Caleb go over to his teacher, concerned because he knew he read more pages than the top reader in 4th grade.  Then the librarian announced that Caleb was the overall winner for 3rd and 4th grades.  He read 19, 959 pages this summer!  He was so excited and his classmates were also excited for him.  As they lined up to go back to class many of the kids were giving him high-fives.

That is so awesome!! That's about what Aubree read this summer. Blows me away to think about just how many books that is! What are his favorite series?
